"VNP Identity" -- The Ed25519 key pair generated on the User' device.
2. ACCEPTANCE
By accessing the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
3. SERVICE DESCRIPTION
VNP provides:
Ethical verification: decentralised identity protocol based on Ed25519 cryptographic signatures
Restaurant booking: online reservation system for participating venues
Point of sale: transaction recording and VNP discount application
Peer-to-peer networking: OrbitDB-based decentralised data synchronisation
4. USER OBLIGATIONS
You shall not misrepresent your ethical alignment during verification.
You shall not attempt to circumvent, reverse-engineer, or automate the verification process.
You shall not use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
You are solely responsible for safeguarding your VNP Identity (private key). We cannot recover lost keys.
You shall not attempt to access venue administration pages without authorisation.
5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The VNP protocol specification, source code, and documentation are licensed under the terms specified in the project's LICENSE file.
6. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The Operator does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that verification results reflect absolute ethical compliance, or that peer-replicated data will be permanently available.
7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by Japanese law, the Operator's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the User in the 12 months preceding the claim. For free services, this is zero (\u00A50). This clause preserves liability for the Operator's wilful misconduct or gross negligence per Consumer Contract Act Article 8.
8. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
Automated access, scraping, or bot usage against the Service
Attempting to bypass rate limiting or IP-based security measures
Impersonation of another user's VNP Identity
Injection attacks, XSS, or any attempt to compromise Service integrity
Using the booking system to make fraudulent reservations
9. TERMINATION
The Operator may suspend or terminate access at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. Upon termination, locally stored data remains yours. Server-side data will be deleted upon request per the Privacy Policy.
10. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tsu District Court, Mie Prefecture.
11. CHANGES
The Operator may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted at /terms with an updated effective date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
